WHO IS DI TRAN?

Di Tran is a true leader in his community, known for his dedication to small business ownership and success. As a serial entrepreneur and computer engineer, Di has 18 years of experience in the field and a deep understanding of what it takes to make a business thrive.

Born in Vietnam, Di immigrated to the United States with his family in 1995. Despite facing significant challenges, including not speaking English when he arrived, Di was determined to achieve the “American Dream” and worked hard to make it happen.

Through his hard work and dedication, Di not only became a U.S. citizen in 2000, but also earned a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Louisville, as well as a Doctorate of Philosophy from Sullivan University in 2017.

Di’s entrepreneurial spirit has led him to found 10 successful businesses, including the Louisville Beauty Academy (LBA) in 2016. The academy has grown to become a highly affordable technical cosmetology school, with a milestone of more than 1000 graduates in 2022. He also owns multiple nail salons and is the owner and proprietor of the Louisville Beauty Academy (LBA). Through these businesses, Di has sponsored people from across the world to come to Louisville, find employment, and earn American citizenship.

In addition to his business success, Di is also a dedicated community leader. He serves as a college adjunct professor at Sullivan University and founded the Louisville Institute of Technology in 2018. Through these positions, he has mentored 100+ engineers, IT professionals, and small business owner prospects, all of whom have gone on to achieve great success in their fields.

Di is also an active member of various organizations, including the Louisville Independent Business Association (LIBA), the Kentucky Association of Career Colleges and Schools, the Vietnamese Community of Louisville, the Tri An Foundation, and Saint John Vianney Catholic Church. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Louisville Independent Business Association (LIBA) and the South Louisville LIBA Committee.

In 2018, Di took his dedication to the community one step further by running for political office in the Louisville Metro Council District 21. While he was not elected, he continues to be a vocal and active member of his community, fighting for the rights and well-being of small businesses and immigrants.

Di’s determination and dedication to his community and businesses is an inspiration to all. His story is one of survival, determination, and service, and he continues to work tirelessly to make a positive impact on the lives of those around him.

Di Tran’s efforts have been recognized by various organizations, including being presented with a Kentucky Colonel in 2019 for his workforce development and job creation efforts, 2020 Jewish Community Center MOSAIC Award Honoree, and Finalist of Rising Star/Nex Gen in 2021 for Louisville Business First Family Business award.
